FixFolk is a free local marketplace. When a badge appears, it means FixFolk checked the specific record described. It does not mean FixFolk guarantees a person, business, job, payment, safety, or workmanship.
What FixFolk checks
Email confirmed
The account holder used a link sent to the account email. This does not prove legal identity.
Trade license checked
FixFolk compared the submitted license claim with an available official licensing source. The badge should include its jurisdiction and expiration when available.
Business registration checked
FixFolk compared the submitted entity claim with an available official state or local business record.
Insurance document reviewed
FixFolk reviewed a submitted insurance document and date. Customers should still contact the insurer and confirm coverage for their specific work.
FixFolk job completed
The platform recorded that a FixFolk job reached completed status. This is not an inspection of the work.
Verified job review
The review is tied to an eligible FixFolk job relationship. FixFolk does not require a positive review.
What FixFolk does not currently check
- Government identity documents or driver's licenses.
- Paid phone ownership or one-account-per-phone.
- Criminal background history.
- Every license, permit, insurance policy, employee, subcontractor, or claim.
- Work quality, pricing, property condition, or payment ability.
Before hiring
- Ask for identification and compare it with the person and business you are hiring.
- Confirm licenses and insurance directly with the issuing authority or insurer.
- Check references and recent, relevant work.
- Use a written scope, price, payment schedule, change-order process, and warranty.
- Confirm permits and inspections for regulated work.
- Avoid unusually large deposits and never share unnecessary account credentials or sensitive documents.
Reports and emergencies
Use FixFolk reporting tools for suspicious profiles, messages, jobs, or reviews. Contact local emergency services immediately for threats, suspected crimes in progress, fire, gas, electrical danger, or medical emergencies.
